Priscilla and the art of coincidence

To stay Priscilla was strategic and persistent is an understatement of sorts.  She mapped out a plan, and she picked up clues and she relentlessly pursued to try to achieve the chance meetings she hoped for.  It seems ironic that chance meetings and pursuing/strategic are all in the same sentence, and you are correct in thinking this.  But for Priscilla, arranging what seemed to be a "chance occurrence" was an art form.

Priscilla met Jared when he was tied up in another relationship, but she had a strong sense that they would make a good pair.  That feeling never died, and she secretly pined for him and hoped for a day when he would become single and available.  So, she set out on her careful plan to get her morning coffee at the Starbucks next door to his employer.  She figured increasing her odds of a "chance meeting" would be helpful.  Then she did something that was bolder than bold.  She noticed a man in that Starbucks every time that she went.  Always in the same spot near the send off bar where groggy humans grabbed their just made caffeinated concoctions.  She figured that he may know Jared, and be able to provide some important Jared hunting clues.  Many of the rockin chicks would be paralyzed by fear or embarrassment at this point and proceed no further, but not Priscilla.  This man became her confidante, and a go-between of sorts.  He scoped out the scene, he found out the ins and outs of Jared's current love life, and mentioned he had an admirer.  One day, the man had overstepped his bounds and told Jared that he was being pursued, complete with details of her Starbucks stalking.  While Priscilla was embarrassed and faced him a few days later, she never lost the hope.  She decided to stop the Starbucks antics and hope for timing to eventually be on her side.

On the eve of her birthday party, she set out with a pal to grab a drink.  Perhaps the stars were aligned, and perhaps she had good birthday karma?  Enter Jared.  Priscilla tries to quell her excitement.  The evening goes on and the banter escalates.  By the end of the night, the flirtation increased.  Digits exchanged, hand on shoulder, and she ends the night with feelings of hope and happiness.

Sometimes you can push chance, but then it is not really chance at all.  Letting things happen in life can be sweet.  Who knows what will come of Priscilla and Jared, but certainly she enjoyed letting it happen naturally that night!
